San Diego Bioinformatics Network Holiday Showcase

San Diego Bioinformatics Network Holiday Showcase

Join the San Diego Bioinformatics Network for our first event in this new format—a bi-annual holiday mixer! All are welcome to attend (bioinformaticians, biologists and others interested in being part of the UC San Diego bioinformatics community). We will have a Bioinformatics Showcase featuring hands-on demos of UC San Diego developed bioinformatics tools, an informal poster session, and a no-host bar with snacks. Featured tools in the Bioinformatics Showcase: expression, sequence variation and copy number, proteomic, flow cytometry, and network analysis, manipulate, and publish biological network knowledge with any type of attribute data. A lot of apps are available for various kinds of problem domains, including bioinformatics, social network analysis, and semantic web.

  1. VAPr: a Python package for NoSQL variant data storage, annotation and prioritization.
  2. Cirrus-NGS: provides primary analysis pipelines for RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and whole-genome/whole-exome sequencing data.
  3. VisJS2jupyter: a tool to bring the interactivity of networks created with vis.js into jupyter notebook cells.
  4. GenePattern: provides hundreds of analytical tools for the analysis of gene
  5. NDEx: provides an open-source framework where scientists and organizations can share, store,
  6. Cytoscape: an open source software platform for visualizing complex networks and integrating these
