Celebrating the Full Reopening of UC San Diego’s Library Buildings

When
Sep 20, 2021
10:00 AM–2:00 PM

The wait is finally over! The Biomedical Library Building and Geisel Library, will reopen to the Triton community and general public on September 7 and 13, respectively.

To mark this joyous occasion, King Triton will join Audrey Geisel University Librarian Erik Mitchell for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on September 20 at Geisel Library’s front entrance. Events and Exhibits Coordinator Scott Paulson ’84 will be playing some festive tunes and we’ll have pre-packaged treats and Library-branded giveaways for current UC San Diego students.

In an effort to prevent a crowded environment, we invite you to join the ribbon cutting virtually via the Library’s Facebook and Instagram. Students are encouraged to drop by our table outside of Geisel Library’s main entrance near the silent tree throughout the day to collect a giveaway. UC San Diego student IDs must be shown, and for everyone’s safety, we ask that you wear a mask when approaching the table to collect a giveaway.

To protect all students, faculty and staff, UC San Diego has developed enhanced safety requirements for individuals on campus.
